Once again… God bless Jessie Ware.
At this point, we’ve heard a good portion of her upcoming album What’s Your Pleasure?, which is out for release on June 19 – and truly, no one’s complaining. From “Adore You” to “Mirage (Don’t Stop)” “Spotlight” and “Ooh La La,” there hasn’t been a single dud in the set.
And today (May 7), the fabulously talented UK goddess has dropped yet another luscious single off the forthcoming record: “Save A Kiss,” a heavenly slice of dance floor deliciousness produced by frequent collaborator James Ford.
“Save a kiss for me tonight / Wait for me, no compromise/ Just save a little bit and love me, baby…,” she demands on the echoing chorus.
Jessie‘s always been quite the seductress, but this is probably one of her more sensuous and hard-hitting offerings yet. The hypnotic, atmospheric disco pulsations build slowly in the speakers, sort of like in a Robyn‘s “Indestructible” or “Missing U” kind of way. It’s euphoric and inviting.
“‘Save A Kiss‘ has taken on a new meaning during these weird times and it seems like the right time to put it out,” Jessie said in a statement. “This track is an optimistic one for me, I hope it resonates with people wherever they are right now. It’s an upbeat song to dance along to and have fun with. I know I’ve got plenty of kisses I’m saving up for everyone when this is all over.”
The song just feels timeless from the very first play, and when packaged together with all the other songs we’ve been given – “Spotlight,” etc – there’s no doubt in my mind that What’s Your Pleasure? will wind up being one of her very best yet.
