To no one’s surprise in particular, Jess Glynne‘s kick-off single from her upcoming sophomore release Always In Between, “I’ll Be There,” turned out to be another winning #1 for the red-haired UK darling. But it doesn’t stop there…
This week, Jess returns with her second official offering from the upcoming LP: “All I Am“!
Less of a departure from Jess‘ previous style and more of an embracing of her uplifting dance-pop diva “essence,” the Mark Ralph-produced track (the same man part responsible for gems from Years & Years, Clean Bandit, Jax Jones, ALMA, etc.) takes us on a complete lush trip loaded with slick electro-pop instrumentation and soaring vocals.
“Every time I think I’m falling/ I know you’re falling too/ There’s no doubt you’re all in (oh oh oh oh),” Jess chants on the spirited hook. “If you ever think you’re falling/ You know I’ll catch you too, oh, oh/ ‘Cause all I am is you…”
The thing about “All I Am” is that it sounds like a Jess Glynne classic almost immediately upon first listen, sitting itself nicely in between “Hold My Hand” and “Rather Be.” And yet, it still sounds like a Fresh ‘N Modern Pop Song for 2018, remaining a dance record without pandering to any particular cheap “EDM-pop” trends. Jess has always known how to rule the dance floor and uplift all at once, and “All I Am” is certainly no exception.
