The clip, which was directed by Sophie Muller, kicks off with the Aussie pop diva strumming a guitar in her Nashville hotel room. From there, we’re transported to a dimly lit club (London’s Bush Hall) where Kylie shows off her line-dancing skills, switches through multiple costume changes and then hits the floor with the Grim Reaper. It’s Kylie meets Dolly Parton meets Dia De Los Muertos.
“I always thought I could learn routines quickly but this was different,” Kylie said in a statement. “However, by the time I had to dance with the Grim Reaper at the end I had mastered it. And if that’s not a funny allegory for life I don’t know what is! The clip encapsulates the joyful essence of the song and marries it with its more morbid undertones: “Life’s all just moments which all join up – some of them are great, and some of them are less than sparkling – but ultimately I wanted this video to reflect the celebratory nature of the song,” Kylie explains.
The song has grown on me immensely and the video does a good job of bringing its true meaning to life wonderfully – LOVE!
