Betty Who‘s feeling “Some Kinda Wonderful,” and so are we!
Earlier this week, the “Somebody Loves You” songstress announced that she’s hitting the road on her headlining Party In The Valley Tour in support of her upcoming sophomore album, The Valley. And today (February 3), along with the gorgeous artwork and release date – March 24, Betty dropped off one of her favorite songs off the new record: “Some Kinda Wonderful“!
Like “Human Touch” before it, “Some Kinda Wonderful” sees the Aussie getting sexier and having more fun than ever — unleashing her inner Dancing Queen, of course. But unlike her Justin Bieber-like bedtime seduction, “Some Kinda Wonderful” sees Betty returning to her ’80’s-flavored roots and dialing up the BPM a bit on the Pop & Oak-produced banger, bouncing along atop bubbly beats and enticing future-bass grinds.
“I’ve been thinking we’re meant to be but I don’t know how to show you the best of me/ Yeah I want you/ Do you want me too,” Betty teases in the first pulsating few seconds, letting her increasingly confident personality shine all the way onto the dancefloor. “Feeling tonight/ Some kinda wonderful/ Feeling inside/ Some kinda wonderful.”
There’s lots of shouty sing-along hooks, infectious vocal stutters, glitchy beat breakdowns, and lots of care-free lyricism (“I keep showing off in the nines but you show me you know it’s a waste of time“): It’s a fun lil’ dance-ready taste of what’s to come. Some Kinda Wonderful, indeed!
