ATTENTION! Little Mix have something to get off their chest: “You Gotta Not!“
That’s right! Following the release of their G.R.L-esque pop smasher “Shout Out To Me Ex,” which has already become their fourth number-one single in the UK, the ladies – Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall – have decided to be generous and provide us with another brand new glimpse into their anticipated fourth LP Glory Days: “You Gotta Not,” which was written by your fave love-to-hate popstar Meghan Trainor.
Where “Shout Out To My Ex” saw Little Mix coming for their past lovers with a variety of shaming lines, “You Gotta Not” throws shots at all the men out there who need to step up their game if they want a taste of this fierce quartet. “I need a man, a man who can act like a man/ So hear me now, I don’t get paid to babysit no one/ I’m out here lookin’ for the one to love/ Singin’, I need a man, so hear me now,” the girls chant over the funky, horn-heavy pop production.
It’s an anthem of sorts, yes, packed with the same kind of instantly catchy one-liners you’d expect to come from Meghan‘s pen. Is it better than “Shout Out To My Ex“? Not quite, but I am totally here for the sass ladies – WIN!
