Lady Gaga Gets Rowdy On Catchy ‘Joanne’ Country-Pop Single, ‘A-YO’!

Lady Gaga

With Joanne just three days away form dropping on Friday (October 21), Lady Gaga — sorry, I meant Joanne — has decided to “officially” share one more track from the forthcoming fifth studio LP, despite it leaking in its entirely yesterday. WELP.

Much like “Million Reasons,” “A-YO” – co-written and co-produced by Gaga, Mark Ronson, and Bloodpop along with country music hitmaker Hillary Lindsey – sees Gaga venturing off into a slightly more raw, country-tinged sound as she seduces her man.

Can’t wait to get you shook up/ Faster than you can try to hate it/ You can try to hate it, you can try to fake it/ But baby, I laced it,” she confesses on top of the funky, stomping beat before launching into the catchy hook: “Get off on me, my body’s got you pleadin’/ Light me up and breathe in/ Mirror on the ceilin’/ Off on me, my body’s got you pleadin’/ Light me up and breathe in/ Mirror on the ceiling/ A-YO, A-YO.”

While it’s definitely the more immediate cut we’ve heard thus far, I’m still having a hard time fully embracing this whole Joanne era. Please respect my privacy at this time.

What do you guys think?

Pre-order Lady Gaga’s new album Joanne (Deluxe Edition) on iTunes now!

  1. SAME. Hoping I’m proven wrong come Friday but so far everything she’s release is “meh”

  2. I have to admit I’m underwhelmed with this album. Sadly, A-YO and Perfect Illusion are the catchiest cuts on Joanne. Hey Girl being a third, but limping its way into that spot. Oh well, here’s looking forward to Gaga’s “A Star Is Born” soundtrack being a better collection of songs.
