Is your body ready for some new music from Queen Kylie Minogue? Last night, while you were re-watching old seasons of America’s Next Top Model (or maybe that was just me?), the always amazing Aussie legend surprised patrons by dropping a brand new EP with Fernando Garibay titled: Kylie + Garibay!
The 3-track set is Kylie‘s second collaborative effort with the dance producer, following last year’s surprise release of “Glow,” “Wait,” “Chasing Ghosts” and “Break This Heartbreak” around the same exact time. This time around, their new material is a bit more carefree and attainable, sitting comfortably in between the futuristic electro-pop vibes of their previous set and the more mainstream stuff of Kylie’s signature sound, providing the perfect new additions to her ever-growing flawless catalog.
Really though, this is the very essence of dance-pop at its finest: Strong songcraft, powerful melodies and captivating productions, from the feel-good, ’90s synth-soaked “Black and White” with Shaggy to the thoroughly brilliant Sam Sparro-assisted House banger “If I Can’t Have You” to “Your Body” featuring Giorgio Moroder, which sees Kylie revisiting subtle Fever and X era like levels of disco-pop euphoria, layered between stomping robo-pulsations and warm washes of synths. Kylie just gets it (always).
