Demi Lovato Takes Us Into Her Summery Paradise with Killer New Single, ‘Cool For The Summer’!

Selena Gomez isn’t the only Disney queen shredding away any form of innocence she has left, but then again, Demi Lovato has always been a bit more of the “controversial” queen anyway. After teasing the super hot cover art and a very intriguing video teaser over the weekend, Demetria Devonne Lovato officially makes her return with “Cool For The Summer,” the lead single off her upcoming fifth studio album, which is the follow-up to her 2013 self-titled LP (her most successful one yet).

The Max Martin-produced synth-pop killer is an instant and undeniable earworm loaded with a thumbing dance beat, infectiously light-hearted electro melodies, and a slight indie-pop groove that recalls all sorts of Katy Perry/Bonnie Mckee/Ke$ha greatness. “Take me down into your paradise/ Don’t be scared cause I’m your body type/ Just something that we wanna try/ Cause you and I/ We’re cool for the summer,” Demi declares alongside a hard-hitting electro drop. A refreshing and unexpected change of pace, she sounds sexy, “cool”, and confident – I’m totally here for it. COME THRU DEMETRIA!

Great song! Hoping for a neon colored/Katy Perry like visual for the video!

People forget Demi has a voice like Pink and Kelly Clarkson plus an amazing catalog — and is great role model!

Haha. Demi has a good voice, but it’s nowhere near being as strong and versatile as Pink’s or Kelly Clarkson’s.

Is it like a thing now with pop artists that they feel like they need to include “F**k” at least once in every song? I went to public school, I can take it, but it seems like for a while now artists have gone out of their way to insert the word in a backwards attempt to score some kind of depressing “cool” points.
