This weeks Flashback Friday song belongs to Nivea; two-hit-wonder and mother of at least two Lil Wayne kids. Nivea B. Nash first made her mark in 2000 with a feature on Mystikal‘s “Danger (Been So Long),” the track reached #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut solo single, “Don’t Mess with the Radio“, followed in 2001 but commercially flopped. In 2002 she released her second single in the U.S., “Don’t Mess With My Man” featuring Brian and Brandon Casey of Jagged Edge. The flawless R&B anthem reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and later became her biggest single to date. I was very clearly obsessed with this song when it came out, I still have the CD single. Which makes me wonder how my mom didn’t know I was total homosexual – c’mon, look at those lyrics. YOU BOUGHT ME THE CD MOTHER! The end. You’re welcome.
