Troye Sivan isn’t quite ready to let us say goodbye to his In A Dream EP era just yet. And why should he when it’s a good as it is? I’m still not over the lead single “Take Yourself Home,” “STUD” and the title track “IN A DREAM.”
The Mark Ronson mix breathes new life into “Easy” while still keeping it’s original charm and structure intact by infusing even more ’80’s-encrusted flare into the already dreamy synth-pop gem.
Kacey provides some of her signature, soothing “Golden Hour“-esque magic with her brand new verse: “I’m not a saint so just give me the blame/ I know what I want and it gets in my way/ I know I’m not easy, darlin’/ When you see me out/ I hope the taste in your mouth/ Is still as sweet as I wish it could be/ Believe me, darlin’…“
And then, it’s that earworm of a chorus that really seals the deal: “I can’t even look at you/ Would you look at the space just next to your feet?/ The wood is warping/ The lines distorting/ This house is on fire, woo/ Burnin’ the tears right out my face/ What the hell did we do?/ Tell me we’ll make it through…,” as the two trade sweet melodies across the crashing drums and swirling synths.
The two also make for one dynamic duo in the gorgoues Bardia Zeinali-directed music video, which features both Troye and Kacey as self-proclaimed “runaways.”
This is what we call a remix! A real match made in pop heaven.
