From the sky, drop like Confetti!
In times of need, we can always look to the ladies of Little Mix for guidance.
The UK girl group have slowly been dropping the contents of their sixth studio album Confetti, due out on November 6, piece by piece. We’ve had the great pleasure of hearing almost half of the record at this point: From “Break Up Song,” “Holiday,” “Not a Pop Song,” “Happiness” and the thoroughly major and addictive “Sweet Melody,” the girls have delivered – there’s not a single dud in this batch!
The UK girl group have just dropped their final teaser from the collection, the title track “Confetti,” and this one is certainly no exception.
Crafted alongside their frequent collaborators MNEK and TMS (“Wings” “Salute,” “Little Me, “The Cure” etc.), the title track is as explosive as the rest of what we’ve already heard, but with a slightly more sassy and sinister feel throughout.
“From the sky, drop like confetti/ All еyes on me, yeah, so V.I.P, yeah/ All of my dreams, from the sky, drop like confetti/ Drop it down/ You’re missin’ me, but I’m finally free…,” the girls chant on the liberating chorus. “I got what I need, so let it rain down like confetti.”
It’s all about learning to let go, and rising above post break-up — a self-empowerment anthem, yes, packed with the same kind of strong melodies we’ve come to expect from the girls.
IN SHORT: Yes, “Confetti” is yet another strong case that this album will be one of their best.
