Queer Necessities: Jon ALi’s September 2020 Playlist, Featuring Bronze Avery & More!

It’s that time once again.

To save you from your end-of-summer blues, I happily present to you the September edition of Queer Necessities, my monthly LGBTQ-focused playlist where I catch you up on the latest releases by rising queer talent and fierce allies.

The cover star this month is LA-based singer-songwriter-producer Bronze Avery, who is fresh off the release of his latest single: “Risky Time,” a dreamy and shimmering rush of warm ’80s synth waves and crashing drums.

“‘Risky Time‘ is a song about tension. It’s a dance between thoughts of excitement, anxiety, fear, and courage while entering your first moments of intimacy with a new partner,” Bronze told Jon Ali in a statement. “The sonics are inspired by the retro sounds of the ’80s, but with a futuristic take on the vocal production.”

Get familiar with his name if you haven’t already! This month’s selections also include new singles from Starrah, Cartel Madras, MRSHLL, Vardaan Arora, Wafia, Keaton Dekker, Shamir, Arlo Parks, Laskaar, Rubby, Tokeyo, Damez, Asiahn, Tama Gucci, Michael Love Michael, Appleby, and much much more.
