Meet Jeremy McClain.
If you’re a fan of the hit Ryan Murphy-helmed FX series Pose, you’re probably already familiar with the actor-activist because of his debut role as Cubby from the House of Abundance.
For now, though, he’s setting his sights on a much different medium than the small screen and the ballroom: The music industry.
That being said, Jeremy‘s yet to release his own solo music until now with his debut “Partly Cloudy,” which just debuted today (July 24) and is — perhaps shocking to some — a much more intriguing offering than what you may have expected.
The atmospheric, mid-tempo electronic debut — which was produced in collaboration with Rush Davis (Kelly Rowland, Dawn Richard), Kingdom (Kelela, Tinashe), Nick Breton (SZA, Solange), Aidan Carroll, and NoMBe — is inviting and hypnotizing all at once. “Who told you that you had to walk alone to find the answers/ It’s all here inside, so have a little talk with your mind/ (Oooh) the pressure, the pressure, I can feel the pressure…,” Jeremy croons across dreamy synthesizers, tripping drum loops and lonesome acoustics. There’s a kind of hazy melancholy and healing quality to it, as well.
It’s all about finding that peace of mind. Essentially, the track follows a relatable journey of getting to that inner breakthrough where you can take control of your mental health, focus on your self-care and inner strength. I can defintely get down with that. Alright, alright!
“Partly Cloudy” is a super solid way to start this music venture. Here’s hoping he’s got an EP or album on the way pretty soon, too!
