Hands up to the sky! It’s finally here…

Lady Gaga – aka “that rah rah bitch” – Mother Monster or Stefani Joanne “I’m Italian” Angelina Germanotta, announced earlier this month that after some delays (due to that bitch corona) she is finally releasing her sixth studio album (LG6) Chromatica on May 29.

The exciting 16-track record is set to include new collaborations with BLACKPINK and Elton John, as well as the much-buzzed and highly-anticipated “Rain On Me” with ponytail diva, Ariana Grande. Heard of her? Yes, that one, has finally arrived.

The name combination of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande is already enough to send most gays into full panic mode. A song with them together? Consider the wig, SNATCHED. Gaga has already established herself as a Queen of the Gays so it only makes sense for her to join forces with one of the current reigning Queens of the Gay Youth.

Bring on the tears and grab an umbrella! The track, produced by Tchami, BURNS and BloodPop®, is essentially a crying-on-the-dance-floor anthem of fierce proportions. It’s Gaga and Ariana‘s way of offering up some support for the world and each other – encouraging us to push through the tears and embrace all the emotions.

It’s coming down on me/ Water like misery/ It’s coming down on me/ I’m ready, rain on me…,” the ladies croon over an array of soaring strings and pounding dance beats. “I’d rather be dry, but at least I’m alive/ Rain on me, rain, rain/ Rain on me!

The song offers up some particularly strong melodies — that “I hear the thunder comin’ down/ won’t you rain on me” chant is a major earworm – and even sweeter are those signature sing-talk Gaga-isms in the bridge: “Hands up to the sky, I’ll be your galaxy, I’m about to fly…,” all while Ari lays down her signature runs throughout.

In short: “Rain On Me” did exactly what we wanted it to do: It’s pure pop and simple dance floor joy, reminding us all that in times of hardship, some dance floor beats and full-bodied diva voices is really all you need to escape. And for that, we’re grateful. Now FLY!

Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me” is available on all streaming services now!
