God bless Jessie Ware.
The fabulously talented UK goddess has a new album on the way later this summer (June 19 to be exact). It’s called What’s Your Pleasure? and it’s already shaping up to be the disco-driven pop-scape we need following an excellent run of singles that include “Spotlight,” “Mirage (Don’t Stop)” and “Adore You.”
And today (April 24), we’ve been given further access into Jessie‘s anticipated Glasshouse follow-up: “Ooh La La,” a joyous slice of uptempo deliciousness co-crafted alongside Shungudzo Kuyimba, Model Child (Danny Parker) and James Ford.
“Ooh la la, open up the door, you know I like it / Ooh la la, chivalry was dead but you revived it/ You can love me one time/ You can love me two, two times/ You can have all my time/ If you’re gonna treat me nice…,” Jessie seduces across a satisfying swirl of warm sun-soaked beats and disco bass plucks on the ’80’s-flavored production, bringing to mind classics from Madonna and Janet Jackson.
This is simply fun! Jessie has already established her more chilled-out disco aesthetic, so it’s quite nice to hear her flirt with the more camp side of disco. There’s no doubt about it: What’s Your Pleasure? will be a true pleasure.
