All she ever wanted was love…
Lady Gaga‘s back in full force and she’s having fun again!
The last time we heard from Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, she was diving off the deep end with Bradley Cooper on their A Star Is Born power ballad “Shallow” – you know, the one that earned her an Oscar, a Golden Globe Award, and a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Original Song.
Since then, she’s continued on with her Enigma Vegas residency and launched her first, vegan makeup line, Haus Laboratories (let’s not talk about it). ANYWAY… she’s back, and all on her own again with the unbelievably joyous “Stupid Love“! (You know that song that may have leaked about a month ago, because Gays and the Internet – again, let’s not talk about it.)
The pulsating pop explosion is all kinds of bright and euphoric – a return to form of sorts, playing like a blend of the best cuts off of Born This Way (“The Edge of Glory,” “Hair,” “Fashion of his Love“) and ARTPOP (“Applause”), as Gagita belts out her message of love against waves upon waves of glittering synthesizers. “I want your stupid love, love…“
“We are definitely dancing, I mean like, I think the best way to describe all of the things that you just said is that I put all my heart, all my pain, all my messages from the other realm that I hear of what they h- what they tell me to tell the world and I put it into music that I believe to be so fun and you know, energetically really pure, and I want people to dance and feel happy,” Gaga told Zane Lowe. “You know, someone asked me the other day what my goal was with this album and it actually sounds ridiculous when I say it out loud. But I go, I said, ‘I would like to put out music,’ (laughs), That a big chunk of the world will hear, and it will become a part of their daily lives and make them happy every single day.”
The era is here and the message is loud and clear. Gaga wants us dancing again. So yes, Da-da-doo-doot-n, just dance!
