Majid Jordan Go On Sweet Escape With Khalid On New Single, ‘Caught Up’!

My forever faves Majid Jordan are back at it with their first new song of 2019: “Caught Up“!

Following the release of “All Over You” and “Spirit” late last year, the Toronto-bred duo – Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman – have linked up with Khalid for the first taste off of their upcoming project, which comes with a psychedelic music video from Matthew Dillon Cohen.

Caught Up” was inspired by the duo’s experiences getting carried away in the Los Angeles lifestyle, and finds Majid laying down a soft vocal across a tripping, slow-burning R&B production. Khalid adds a nice and steady finishing touch with a verse towards the end of the song, sounding more like an additional member than just a featured guest.

“‘Caught Up‘ is a song about getting carried away. We have an interesting, impermanent relationship with L.A.,” Majid said in a statement. “It’s a really amazing place to connect with artists. But spend too much time out here and you start losing sight of life outside of the bubble. It’s that gorgeous scenery and culture mixed with the parties, the people and the glamour that leave you caught up and drifting away from home and the ones you love the most.”

Jordan added, “We first met Khalid in L.A. Like us, he is always on the go, but we managed to come back together in L.A. to finish the record. Majid and I are always inspired by our surroundings, and L.A. has so much to offer in terms of sights and sounds. And I think we’ve all had moments where we have felt like we’re really caught up in this city. I took that energy and put it into the production. This song is a great start to the next chapter of where we’re going with our music and I’m grateful to have made a lifelong friend in Khalid.”

Signature Majid Jordan with some extra star power – It’s a WIN!

Majid Jordan’s new single “Caught Up (feat. Khalid)” is also available on Spotify and Apple Music!
