The Weeknd is getting back into it with his first new music of 2019.
On the seductive dance throb, The Weeknd effortlessly laces his seductive vocals over the French producer’s slinky production, which brings to mind “Starboy” with Daft Punk. “And we lost a lot of things in the fire/ So it took a year for me to find out (Find out, find out),” he croons. “I can’t lose you, babe (I can’t lose you)/ I can’t lose you, babe (I can’t lose you, babe)…“
Gesaffelstein produced both “I Was Never There” and “Hurt You” off of The Weeknd‘s My Dear Melancholy – EP, so it’s very clear that the favor is being returned to the French DJ-producer who is now readying his new album Hyperion – the follow-up to his 2013 debut Aleph, for release later this year via Columbia Records.
This is solid enough to hold us over until The Weeknd decides to come back on his own again. Listen below!
