2018 without a doubt been a highlight year for Mississippi-bred, LA-based singer-songwriter Leland.
On top of expanding his songwriting credits with Carrie Underwood (“End Up with You“) and Kelsea Ballerini (“Miss Me More“), Leland‘s also had a hand in co-penning Troye Sivan‘s high-profile collaborations with Charli XCX (“1999“) and Ariana Grande (“Dance To This“) this year, as well as his beautiful contribution to the Boy Erased soundtrack, “Revelation.” But that’s not all: The multi-talented rising star has also been keeping busy carving out his own niche as a solo musical act with a number of high quality solo tracks from his upcoming debut EP, including “Mattress” and “Run Into You.”
This week, Leland returns with a brand new single called: “Middle Of A Heartbreak,” produced by his frequent collaborator Jordan Palmer.
It’s a shimmering pop confessional complete with bubbling ’80’s-esque synths and one earworm of a hook: “I’m in the middle of a heartbreak/ middle of/ middle of a heartbreak, yeah/ I’m in the middle of a heartbreak.” It’s purely the stuff of lush heartbroken pop heaven aka the sound of an artist who’s about to seriously blow up in 2019.
“This song is so incredibly special to me and starts a new chapter where I feel like I’ve tapped into a deeper layer of who I am sonically and visually,” Leland said in a statement – Listen below!
