It’s about damn time!
Following its debut at the 2018 American Music Awards last month, Jennifer Lopez aka MOM has finally unveiled the studio version of “Limitless,” the lead single from the soundtrack of her upcoming romantic comedy film Second Act.
Second Act follows Jennifer‘s character, Maya, whose lack of a college degree has left her with unfulfilled career dreams — until her friends create a false identity for her, which lands Maya a prestigious job in New York City. Peter Segal directed the flick, which also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Milo Ventimiglia and Leah Remini, and it’s set to hit theaters on December 21st.
Basically the movie is all about asserting yourself and realizing your self-worth, therefore it’s no surprise Jennifer recruited Sia, Queen of Soundtracks, to write her an almighty anthem to accompany the film.
“I told myself I had to be a different someone/ In order to win at a war I had already won/ Yeah, I’d given up on the saying “I’ll never give up”/ But look at me now/ Yeah, look at me, I’m limitless (I’m limitless)…,” Jennifer sings on the roaring chorus – yes, it’s a self-empowerment anthem, the kind you’d come to expect to come from Sia. No one is complaining.
“There’s a lot going on in this world right now… what I’ve realized is all you can control is what you do!,” Jennifer said in a statement. “Who you are! You can make a difference!! Please remember you are strong, you are powerful, you are LIMITLESS.”
