Bronze Avery Keeps Things Moving With New Single, ‘Want 2’!

I haven’t properly written about Bronze Avery yet, although he’s been included on at least two of my Billboard Pride playlists in the few past months. So, let’s change that.

The rising Orlando-born singer-songwriter makes punchy, propulsive pop armed with sticky hooks, stomping beats, atmospheric textures and sexy vibes, seated somewhere at the table alongside Zara Larsson, Troye Sivan, MNEK and ALMA. You know, somewhere right in there.

Over the past year, Bronze has released four singles independently – “Leave Together” to “Pressure” to “Secrets” and his take on the Rick Astley classic “Never Gonna Give You Up” – to build up his name in the pop universe. He returns this week with his fifth single, “Want 2,” another instantly addictive pop slice that’ll keep you moving on the dance floor.

Doing what you wanna do/ Im’ma do it all to you/ Swear I got a list of the shit I want I wanna do,” he declares on-top of the sunny, upbeat production. “Doing what you wanna do/ Im’ma take my time on you/ Swear I got a list of the shit I want I wanna do…

Bronze‘s still in seduction mode a la “Secrets,” flirting and flaunting across neon lights, fog machines and yes, the bedroom. Get familiar!

“I actually wrote it with one of my closest friends, who’s also a musician, her name is Emily Vaughan. So when she came to Orlando, we did a sesh together because it had been years, and on the way there she told me a story about her current boyfriend now and how they were flirting together at a bar, how she was friends with him for a while, and how she didn’t know what was going to happen between them,” Bronze told Gay Times. “So, all my music, when I look back at it, is about sex [laughs]. The best way I would describe myself now would be bedroom sheets meets the dance floor, because they’re all sexy songs but super danceable. I always like to keep things uptempo. So we went into the studio with the mindset of doing a song with a vibe like Cigarette by Mabel, and it ended up turning out completely different but… So it’s just a really sexy, flirty song that you’d be expecting two people to be dancing to on the dance floor… very dirty.”

Bronze Avery’s new single is also available on Apple Music and Spotify now!
