Hailee Steinfeld is taking the lead in the upcoming Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, but it looks like her contributions to the film won’t be stopping there.
After taking some time to expand her musical horizons with a whole bunch of satisfying collaborations – from “Ordinary Day” with Logic to her hit Florida Georgina Line collab “Let Me Go” with Alesso to most recently, “Colour” with MNEK – Hailee is ready to put the focus back on just her again with the release of a brand new single called, “Back To Life” – the lead from the accompanying Bumblebee soundtrack.
The track maintains Hailee‘s infectious, feather-light stylings throughout, from the romantic lyrical theme to the way she’s lacing her vocals across the dreamy Swede-pop production, it’s dream-pop at its finest. “‘Cause I’m bringing you back to life (Back)/ And I know that you’re gone but I swear that you’re here/ It’s a feeling that won’t disappear/ And you’re bringing me back to life (Back)/ I was looking for something that I couldn’t find/ It’s a feeling you give me inside…,” Hailee declares before a thrilling, future-bass breakdown comes surging through the speakers
With those pulsating synths and sparkling melodies in the chorus, Hailee‘s latest offering is a without a doubt a solid and breezy, little earworm. Whether or not the song makes much of an impact outside of the film remains to be seen, but I wouldn’t underestimate Hailee just yet – she’s managed to crack the Top 40 more than once already, she can do it again.
