Time to get MAAD all over again!
In case you forgot, MAAD is the promising NYC based DJ-model-songstress responsible for supplying us with stellar R&B-pop releases for years now: From the brilliant offerings on the Lé Funk EP to “Wonderland” and “New Religion” back in January — and they’re all killer. She’s serving, and serving well…
After racking up an impressive 1 million streams and an abundance of critical acclaim with “New Religion,” MAAD returns this week with her brand new single: “Me & U,” the latest from her freshly announced forthcoming EP, Technicolor, due for release on September 14th.
Produced by Joe Hertz and TheVAMP, “Me & U” is as sultry and vaguely nostalgic, buoyant slice of R&B-tinged, synth-pop greatness. “It’s me and u/ I don’t need a lover cuz it’s just me and you…,” she seductively declares. It’s a luscious throbber filled with major earworm melodies.
“I was in London with Joe Hertz and Oritse when we created this record. I instantly connected to the lyrics in the track as it’s all about enjoying the company of your significant other but also being totally cool flying solo,” MAAD said in a statement. “I finished up the record in the states and couldn’t be prouder to have it as the next track from my EP ‘Technicolor’.”
