Meghan Trainor has been steadily been revealing the contents of Treat Myself, her upcoming studio album, treat by treat. And today, she’s released the next treat of Treat Myself: “Treat Myself,” yes, the title track off the upcoming 15-track LP.
Like the majority of Meghan‘s lyrical themes, “Treat Myself” is Meghan‘s way of offering up some encouraging support. “Let me give myself a hand, uh-huh (C’mon)/ Tell myself “get up and dance”/ So I’m on my feet, I love all of me, uh-huh/ Let me give myself a hand (Woo!),” Meghan declares across the sunny, disco-tinged production. “I want it, I’ll treat myself (ahhh, hey)/ I want it, I’ll treat myself (ahhh, woo).”
To no one’s surprise, the song offers up some particularly strong melodies — that “I‘m gon’ be good to me, you could be good to you” chant is a major earworm — resulting in some rather soothing musical medicine for the heavy-hearted.
