Nicki Minaj is back at it with another double dose of goodies!
After dropping “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li“ at the same time last month, the Young Money Queen serves up both music videos at once.
First up is the visual for “Barbie Tingz,” directed by Giovanni Bianco, the creative director for Vogue Italia. The clip is pretty straight forward as it mostly focuses on Nicki and her clones, with exaggerated makeup, animated facial expressions, and copycats all around. There’s some choreography by Aliya Janell throughout, but it’s mostly a stylish affair.
The real treat here is the Steven Klein-directed “Chun-Li,” which recently became Nicki‘s 16th Top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100. The visual showcases Nicki‘s uninhibited diva side. Rocking a superhero/dominatrix-inspired ensemble, she once again takes on her clones. It employs Asian themes throughout in honor of its inspiration – the first female character in Street Fighter. In fact, it plays out like a movie from the start, when Nicki issues a warning to her competitors from the jump.
