Are you ready to “Jump“?
Julia Michaels, the writer of all your favorite pop gems, is back with a new single called “Jump” featuring Ohio rapper Trippie ReddG!
While the “Issues” hit-maker has certainly done a good job of keeping her star shining bright with a variety of collaborations over the last year – Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, Keith Urban, Noah Kahan and Clean Bandit – as well as solid contributions to the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, “Heaven” and “Are You,” we’ve yet to hear some proper tunage from Julia‘s personal project.
This week, she’s back, and all on her own again — well, with Trippie Redd for a brief verse — with the instantly infectious “Jump.” This time around, she’s diving right into a moodier lane, spreading her singularly husky vocals across a chilled out, Nick Monson production, which was co-written alongside her partner in crime Justin Tranter.
We already know Julia‘s totally capable of throwing it down and showing off her versatility with uptempo cuts like “I Miss You,” “Uh Huh” and “Pink” – she’s one of the best writers in the game today, after all – but here she sounds right in her element, cooing above a late night, synth-heavy beat. “‘Cause all I do is jump right into your arms/ Every time I see you, I just wrap myself around you/ Yeah, jump into something real/ Even though I’m cautious, I just like the way it feels…,” she confidently purrs.
Moody Julia is a good look – GET INTO IT!
