At this point, there’s no denying the pop greatness that is Tove Styrke. She’s the real deal!
Today (April 6), we’ve been given further access into the Swedish singer-songwriter’s anticipated new album Sway, which is slated for a May 4 release, via new single “On The Low” – her fourth in less than a year following “Changed My Mind,” “Mistakes” and “Say My Name.”
“On The Low” a hypnotic slice of downtempo deliciousness produced by her frequent collaborator Elof Loelv. “‘Cause you and me/ We’re too damn good to let it be/ And I don’t wanna keep it on the low, low, low, low, low, low/ I don’t wanna keep it on the low, low, low, low, low, low/ Yeah, you and I/ We’re too damn good and I can’t lie,” she quivers on hook.
The track is easily the most downtempo song we’ve heard yet from Tove, but it’s got that addictive subtlety to it that’s become her new signature. Tove‘s simply a master of melody and she manages to make this song hypnotizing and sweet in a very simplistic way.
There’s no doubt that Sway will wind up at the top of this year’s “Best Of” list.
