It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Miss Tori Kelly…
Aside from her collaboration with Country singer Chris Lane on “Take Back Home Girl,” the “Should’ve Been Us” singer-songwriter has been pretty quiet on the music front since the release of her 2015 debut Unbreakable Smile.
This week, Tori makes a brief return with the release of “Help Us To Love” featuring The Hamiltones – the R&B trio made up of the three singers who back Anthony Hamilton. The song is a rallying message of hope and faith directed at the current divisive state of our country.
“This world is weeping, hurting, broken and begging for change/ Oh yeah/ But still we marching, praying, dying, and things stay the same/ When will we see?/ Till everyone’s free,” Tori and The Hamiltones cry out in perfect harmony. “There’ll never be peace between you and me/ God, your love is the cure/ For the rich and the poor/ God, please will you open our eyes?“
With everything going on in the world right now this song couldn’t come at a better time. A simply beautiful treat that should hold us over until Tori kicks off promotion for her upcoming sophomore album.
