It’s not a threat, it’s a warnin’!
Following her hit singles “Bodak Yellow” and “Bartier Cardi,” Cardi B is putting her man on blast with the release of her third single “Be Careful,” which seems to be inspired by her real life romance with Offset.
The breakout Bronx rapper, who is rumored to be pregnant with fiancé Offset‘s child, calls out her man over his infidelity. “I wanna get married, like the Curries, Steph and Ayesha shit,” she raps. “But we more like Belly, Tommy and Keisha shit / Gave you TLC, you wanna creep and shit / Poured out my whole heart to a piece of shit.”
Over the minimalist Vinylz, Boi-1da, and Frank Dukes production, Cardi warns him not to mess with her heart. “It’s not a threat, it’s a warning / Be careful with me,” she raps, while throwing nods to Lauryn Hill‘s “Ex-Factor.”
I certainly didn’t see this coming, but I am very happy it’s here. Cardi lets the music do the talking!
Cardi‘s highly-anticipated debut album Invasion of Privacy arrives April 6. The following day, she will perform on SNL and Coachella later in the month.
