MNEK is back!
The gifted singer-songwriter=producer, renown for penning hits for the likes of Beyoncé, Madonna, Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue and Little Mix (just to name a few), is re-affixing the focus on his very own material with the release of a titillating new single: “Tongue“!
From the very first play, “Tongue” feels like the completely legit and bonkers lead single we’ve been waiting to hear from MNEK‘s forever delayed, anticipated debut LP. He’s without a doubt delivered in the past (“Paradise,” “Never Forget You,” “The Rhythm,” etc.) but “Tongue” immediately feels next level and could very well be the best thing he’s ever done, period.
“So I’m putting both hands over my mouth/ I can only hope nothing’s gonna come out/ But there it is on the tip of my tongue (I think I love you),” he whispers over the shape-shifting dance-pop production. It’s lyrically genius, instantly infectious, and vocally sublime, And THAT sing-talk-whisper chorus is about as epic as a chorus gets.
YUPP! “Tongue” tastes like a full course extravaganza and I simply cannot get enough – A WIN!
