At this point, we’ve heard solo releases from just about every member of Fifth Harmony except for Dancing With the Stars Queen, Normani Kordei.
In honor of Valentine’s Day (February 14), Normani has finally premiered her much-teased collaboration with Best New Artist Grammy nominee Khalid: “Love Lies,” their collaborative single off the upcoming Love, Simon soundtrack.
The track, produced by Bleachers‘ Jack Antonoff, is a slow-moving duet that sees Normani and Khalid trading sweet soulful vocals across an array of soft acoustics, finger snaps and moody atmospherics. “So baby, tell me where your love lies/ Waste the day and spend the night,” they croon on the hook. “Underneath the sunrise/ Show me where your love lies.”
This is exactly the R&B-leaning pop lane Normani needs to be on. The production is slick and Normani and Khalid‘s voices blend beautifully, making this the perfect collaboration.
Jack Antonoff is also executive producing the soundtrack for the coming-of-age film, which stars Nick Robinson, Katherine Langford, Jennifer Garner, and Josh Duhamel.
