Lady Gaga Closes Out ‘Joanne’ Era With Piano Reworking Of Title Track, ‘Joanne’!

A-YO! Lady Gaga is closing out her Joanne era with one last single, y’all!

Yupp, Mother Monster has just premiered a brand new reworked version of the album’s touching title track, “Joanne,” which is officially being billed as “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?) (Piano Version).”

Dedicated to her late aunt who inspired the LP, Joanne Stefani Germanotta, the ballad has always been a standout from the LP and one of my absolute faves. Now with the newly stripped-back production, the song is even more striking and beautiful. Replacing all the noise and keeping the focus solely on the message of the song, she’s revamped it into a true tribute and a fitting opportunity to say farewell to an era in her career.

Given the timing of this release, I think it’s safe to assume Gaga will perform “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?)” at the 2018 Grammys this Sunday (January 28) on CBS. Gaga is also in the running for two awards during the show: Joanne was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album while “Million Reasons” is up for Best Pop Solo Performance. Here’s hoping she gets something!

Lady Gaga’s “Joanne (Piano Version)” is also available on Apple Music and Spotify now!
