Joe Jonas and his DNCE crew are back at it again!
It’s been a minute since the foursome – Joe, JinJoo Lee, Jack Lawless and Cole Whittle – dropped something new, aside from their team up with Rod Stewart over the summer for a remix of his hits song “Do You Think I’m Sexy,” which no one really asked for.
This week, DNCE return with “Dance,” a sparkly and uplifting slice of dance-pop produced by Ricky Reed, the man behind some of Kesha‘s Rainbow cuts (“Learn To Let Go,” “Bastards,” “Hymn“), as well as the bulk of Meghan Trainor‘s Thank You album, including “No.”
“Baby, dance with me/ Come on and dance with me/ Clap your hands with me/ Go to France with me/ Come on and dance with me,” Joe and co. chant throughout across the spirited horns, disco bass plucks and crashing drums.
Sure, it’s a bit repetitive and child-like but a joyful slice of pop without a doubt. Longtime fans will be happy and others will remain un-bothered and unimpressed.
