Just last week, One Direction‘s Liam Payne and Rita Ora dropped off their Fifty Shades Freed anthem, “For You,” and it proved to be a certified pop gem! But Liam and Rita aren’t the only pop stars set to be featured on the upcoming Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, the third and final installment of the erotic franchise. Hailee Steinfeld, Julia Michaels, Dua Lipa, Jessie J, Sia, Jessie Reyez, Sabrina Claudio, Miike Snow and more have also been confirmed to be part of the star-studded collection.
To keep building hype for the soundtrack before its February 9 release, Hailee Steinfeld has just dropped her collaboration with Justin Beiber‘s “Friends” collaborator BloodPop®: “Capital Letters,” written by Ellie Goulding alongside Rachel “Raye” Keen (Anne-Marie, Mabel McVey), Andrew Jackson (Dua Lipa, Alicia Keys) and Ely Weisfeld (Mike Posner, Justin Bieber).
The track, which was reportedly originally intended for Ellie‘s upcoming fourth studio album, maintains Ellie‘s euphoric, feather-light stylings throughout, from the lyrical theme to the way she’s singing to the dreamy Swede-pop production, it’s signature Ellie from start-to-finish.
“I want to get louder/ I got to get louder/ We ’bout to go up baby, up we go/ We ’bout to go up baby, up we go/ We’re blowing out speakers/ Our heart a little clearer,” Hailee sings on the soaring chorus. “For worst or for better/ Gonna give it to you/ In capital letters.”
It’s a winner–no doubt thanks to the guidance and brilliance of Ellie Goulding.
