Anne-Marie is doing the damn thing y’all – and doing it very well.
The rising English talent has had quite the solid streak streak in 2017, from her high-profile collaborations with the likes of Snakehips (“Either Way“), Nick Jonas (“Remember I Told You“) and Clean Bandit (“Rockabye“) to her high quality solo tracks, including “Ciao Adios” and “Heavy.” But now, with 2017 coming to an end, Anne-Marie might have just hit us with one of her best yet: “Then.”
The track is a breakup anthem that oozes raw emotion without ditching her signature, winsome danceability. “Now, when you think of late nights with me there in your bed/ True ride or die, that’s what you had/ I loved you, I loved you, I loved you,” she croons over the twinkling beats. “And when you think of my body on yours, don’t forget/ Once I would have died for you, baby/ I loved you, I loved you, I loved you/ But that was then/ That was then.”
But that first chorus go-around is merely a tease… each time Anne-Marie hits that chorus, the song swells with more soaring vocals and more gorgeous intricate production. A true winner – Listen below!
