All eyes are on Luis Fonsi after tying Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men‘s “One Sweet Day” Billboard Hot 100 record for all-time longest running #1 hit in the chart’s history with his “Despacito (Remix),” featuring Justin Bieber and Daddy Yankee. The pressure is on, y’all!
So naturally, to properly follow-up his worldwide smash, Luis has linked up with yet another high-profile pop star, Miss Demi Lovato, to help keep his star shining bright with a brand new collaboration called, “Échame La Culpa” aka “Put The Blame On Me.”
The track sees Luis and Demi trading sweet verses (mostly in Spanish) on-top of tropical-tinged, reggaeton-pop pulsations. “Solamente te falta un beso/ Solamente te falta un beso/ Ese beso que siempre te prometí/ Échame la culpa,” the duo chant on the hook. It’s a solid collaboration, no doubt, that does a good job of keeping Luis‘ longtime Latin fans happy while still catering to his newfound English audience.
Do I see this being as big as the “Despacito (Remix)“? Definitely not, but I’m certainly not mad about it either. Sing Demetria, Sing!
