Pull up, Pull up, Pull up!
David Guetta and Afrojack have teamed up once again on a brand new single called “Dirty Sexy Money,” a super-collab which also features Charli XCX and French Montana, with additional production from Skrillex, who isn’t included on the official title, but manages to get credit. Okay…
The track serves as the official follow-up to David‘s single with Justin Bieber, “2U,” though despite all its intents and purposes, it’s admittedly and unquestionably a Charli XCX track – she co-wrote it with Noonie Bao.
“If you wanna pu-pu-pu-pu-put it on me/ You’re not gonna ge-ge-ge-ge-get it for free/ Come on spend that dirty sexy money on me, on me, on me/ You got to pull up, pull up, pull up, pull up,” Charli declares across the hard-hitting, future-bass throbs. “If you wanna do-do-do-do-do it freaky/ 24/7, no-no-no-no-no sleep/ Come on put that dirty sexy money on me, on me, on me/ You got to pull up, pull up, pull up, pull up.”
Charli‘s vocals carry the whole song and are only interrupted when French Montana comes in for a very brief verse. You’d think with so many hit-makers on one track that it would turn out to be a mess, but here, it actually works. The song goes hard and at least doesn’t relay on a post-chorus drop. The chorus is the drop, just the way it should be – I’m here for it!
