Camila Cabello puts her acting skill to the test in the official music video for her hit single, “Havana” featuring Young Thug!
The mini-movie, directed by Dave Meyers, kicks off with a humorous telenovela scene starring a glamorous Camila as the heroine. But soon, it’s revealed that Camila is actually just a young girl named “Karla” watching the clip at home, where she lives with her abuelita and sister, played by social media stars LeJuan James and Lele Pons.
When her sis goes out to party and her grandmother starts snoring, “Karla” heads out on her own to the movies, where she watches a lush, dance-filled film, where the leading actress — also played by herself — ends up alone. “That’s the ending?” she asks the screen with a disappointed tone. “You end up alone?” The on-screen Camila has a message for “Karla,” the critic. “Hey sweetie,” she says. “If you don’t like my story, go write your own.”
“Karla” heads out into the streets of Los Angeles, and does just that. It’s cute, campy, and a little silly. I’ll give it to Camila for fully going for it but we probably would’ve been fine with just the movie scene. What do you guys think?
