Kelsea Ballerini has given us another glimpse into her upcoming sophomore album, Unapologetically, before it hit stores everywhere on November 3.
The Grammy-nominated Country darling has revealed a new song titled “Miss Me More” as her next promo single, and it’s really, really great! And also super different from its predecessors “Legends,” “Unapologetically” and “High School.”
The song – crafted alongside David Hodges and LELAND – centers around a past relationship with a certain someone who wasn’t making Kelsea feel so good, until the break-up that is – yes, it’s a self-empowerment anthem of sorts packed with sassy and sultry vocals from Kelsea. It’s a good look (and sound) on her.
As if the song wasn’t already loaded with enough confident-punch as it is, the production itself is properly thunderous — as is the massive chorus: “But I miss me more/ I miss my own beat, to my own snare drum/ I miss me more/ Miss my own sheets in the bed I made up/ I forgot I had dreams, I forgot I had wings/ Forgot who I was before I ever kissed you/ Yeah, I thought I’d miss you/ But I miss me more!“
Strong message. Strong song. Strong feels all around. I am very here for sassy Kelsea Ballerini.
