With Gossip Columns just one week away from dropping on Friday (October 13), Marc E. Bassy has decided to provide us with one more reassuring glimpse into his anticipated full-length debut album.
Surrounded by infectious synths pulses, the crooner sweetly begs his current fling to leave him “high and dry” because he’s developing feels and he just can’t take any more of the unrequited love. “If you love me, baby, cut me off/ Leave me high and dry/ That’s my bridge to cross,” Marc sings. “If you love me, baby, break me down/ Leave me lost and all alone/ Until I get found/ ‘Til I get found.”
The most interesting part of the production comes immediately after the chorus, as the track suddenly dives into a brief, stuttering breakdown of repetitive vocals loops and funky, electronic beats. It’s a satisfying shape-shifting moment, kind of — or at least slightly more experimental as far as the usual Bassy cut is concerned. I’m very much looking forward to this record – Get into it!
