All the stars, and the lights and the glitter is nice, but #NewMusicFriday is where it’s really at!
My girl ROZES, who together with Galantis served us a satisfying short-term remedy on “Girls On Boys” earlier this month, is back at it again with yet another winner to add to her steadily growing catalog: “Famous,” produced by Cheat Codes.
The bright, and shimmering dance-pop track is the official follow-up to the Philadelphia-bred singer-songwriter’s summer single “Canyons,” which has manged to rack up over 792k+ streams. “Famous” offers up a similar aesthetic to “Canyons,” as ROZES‘ full-bodied voice stretches and soars to glorious heights in the verses before coming back down to the ground for the thumping post-chorus drop. “Baby, you make me feel goddamn famous/ I feel so goddamn famous,” she sings. “You take what you want/ Pieces of me, and my soul, and my heart/ You make me feel goddamn famous.”
While the title suggests that song is all about the lifestyles of the rich and “Famous,” it actually puts a new spin on the meaning of fame – putting the focus on love and friendship instead of the glitz and the glam. “There’s a different side to fame, which is more important than materialistic things and paparazzi,” ROZES said in a statement. “Everyone is famous in their own way through the people you surround yourself with, because their love and attention will always make you feel like you’re in the limelight.”
