Unless you’re new around these parts, then you probably already know I have much love, admiration and most likely an unhealthy obsession with the guys of Majid Jordan.
Ever since they broke out in 2013 with their Drake smash “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” the talented Toronto-based duo – Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman (the group’s singer and producer, respectively) – have only continued to impress, from everything on their 2014 A Place Like This EP to their eponymous full-length debut last year to “Phases” and most recently, the PARTYNEXTDOOR-assisted “One I Want.”
Over the summer, Majid Jordan finally announced that their sophomore album, titled The Space Between, was indeed on the way. This week, they share the release date and cover art for the LP coming October 27. In addition to revealing more details surrounding their forthcoming full-length project, Majid Jordan also shared a new song featuring their fellow OVO duo, dvsn: “My Imagination“!
The melodic number sees Majid and dvsn‘s Daniel Daley reflecting on past relationships, which ended in heartbreak. “You remind me of a pretty girl, baby, who broke, who broke my heart,” sings Al Maskati across the dreamy atmospherics. “Baby, that tore my life apart.”
Based off the three tracks we’ve heard so far (“Phases,” “One I Want” and now “My Imagination“), it’s clear that Majid Jordan have become increasingly confident in their approach – adding more and more depth and dimension to their steadily growing catalog.
