Summer lovin’, had me a blast… Summer lovin’, happened so fast…
Now, the talented Swedish singer-songstress is back with another slice of superbly great melancholy to help set the mood just right in preparation of her forthcoming EP due out this fall. It’s called “Body,” and I can’t get enough of it.
“Body” is a dreamy, repeat-heavy standout from LÉON laced with infectious synthesizers and ’70’s-like psychedelic fuzz rock textures that also sounds like something you could’ve plucked off of a John Hughes soundtrack. “I keep thinking ’bout your body/ I keep dreaming ’bout your body/ Cause there’s nobody else quite like you/ Are you thinking ’bout my body, body too?,” LÉON coos atop the propulsive synth-pop crunch. It’s nostalgic and fresh sounding all at once.
“When I wrote ‘Body,’ I guess I was feeling pretty nostalgic,” LÉON said in a statement. “I started thinking of a summer a few years ago, when I used to be working as a waitress. I think a lot of people have experienced that super intense “summerlove” that you know, deep down, will never last. But when it’s over it feels like it’s the biggest heartbreak you’ll ever go through.”
In short: LÉON is an unstoppable musical force. “Body” is something sublime. And I can’t wait to hear what else she has in store for us this year.
