Stefflon Don Embraces Her Roots On Debut Single ‘Hurtin’ Me’ feat. French Montana!

It’s about time another female rapper, aside from Nicki Minaj, started to make some waves on a global scale…

After breaking out at the end of last year with her genuinely good mixtape Real Ting, which scored her a BBC Sound poll nom, 2017 so far has seen Stefflon Don establishing herself as a serious rising star — like, her most recent high-profile move was a feature on Jax Jones‘ summer smash “Instruction” with Demi Lovato — and now she’s finally hitting us with an official debut single: “Hurtin’ Me” featuring French Montana, the first release from Stefflon‘s own Universal imprint V-VI Records, and also her first release under the US label Quality Control. So, yes. Big moves henny – she’s the “Real Ting“!

The new single, produced by Rymez (Wiley, Jeremih, Lil Yachty, Sean Paul), sees the singer-raptress trading silky smooth verses alongside French‘s decisive flow across an infectious, island-tinged dance beat. “I heard you got a new girlfriend/ And it’s hurtin’ me/ I heard you got a new girlfriend/ And it’s hurtin’/ Yeah, it’s hurtin’…,” she croons. It’s essentially the perfect reflection of her multi-cultural background and influences from her upbringing in Jamaica, London and Holland.

If Stefflon plays her cards right, “Hurtin’ Me” could very easily become this summer’s next dancehall staple. GET FAMILIAR NOW!

“Hurtin’ Me” by Stefflon Don is also available on Apple Music and Spotify!
