This week’s Song of the Week comes from a producer who’s no stranger around these parts: Le Youth!
The LA-based producer has made his mark on the electronic-dance music scene through his signature sound: pairing classic R&B samples with laid back nu disco beats. Since releasing “COOL” four years ago, Le Youth has gone on to release a slew of irresistible throbs – including “Touch,” “Boomerang,” “Me Without You” and “If You’re Leaving.”
His latest titled “Clap Your Hands” features an infectious topline from newbie Ava Max, as well as Le Youth‘s signature 90s-influenced sound. It’s a cool, summery burst of energy that marries groovy basslines with heartfelt melodies, sparkling synth accents and yes, hand claps galore.
“I’m always striving to do something new and something fresh,” Le Youth said in an emailed statement. “Even more important for me is doing something cool. This record ticked all those boxes. I can’t wait for people to hear Ava and see what we’ve made.”
