Billie Eilish Calls Out The Posers On Latest Cut ‘COPYCAT’, Announces Tour & Debut EP!

Because what you see, isn’t always the truth…

Rising 15-year-old pop sensation Billie Eilish is back at it again with “COPYCAT,” yet another smoldering gem from the young singer – the song is part of her freshly announced debut EP, dont smile at me, which drops worldwide on August 11 on Darkroom/Interscope Records.

Like “watch” before it, the track was produced by her older brother Finneas O’Connell, and it is indeed — wait for it — about a copycat.

“I knew exactly what I wanted to write about. It’s really cliché of this to happen, because yeah, as you get more recognized and [are] more of a big deal, then people start copying everything you do,” Billie explained in a statement to Billboard. “But if you’re going to do everything I do, what’s the point of even trying to be you, if you’re not even you at all?”

Everyone’s encountered a poser or two at some point in their life, no? “Copycat trying to cop my manner/ Watch your back when you can’t watch mine/ Copycat trying to cop my glamor/ Why so sad when you can’t have mine?,” she questions across the tripping hip-hop beats and grungy atmospherics.

Billie has also announced that she will embark on her first North American tour this fall, hitting up major cities like New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. A pre-sale begins on Wednesday, July 19, with general public tickets on sale Friday, July 21.

“COPYCAT” by Billie Eilish is also available on Apple Music, Google Play and Spotify!
