Surprise! Surprise! The Killers are giving it another go!
The fabulously talented Brandon Flowers-fronted band, who have provided us with some of the best alternative-rock anthems over the past decade – from “Mr. Brightside” to “Somebody Told Me” to “When You Were Young” to “Human,” have returned at last after years of silence with “The Man,” the lead single from their long-awaited fifth studio album, called Wonderful Wonderful – the follow-up to 2012’s Battle Born as well as Brandon‘s very own 2015 solo LP The Desired Effect aka The Pop Masterpiece.
Produced by Garret “Jacknife” Lee and longtime collaborator Stuart Price, the cocky David Bowie-inspired, arena anthem finds Brandon “looking back on his younger self, the ‘Brandon Flowers’ persona from their Grammy-nominated debut Hot Fuss, and reconciling that wide-eyed character with the man he is now,” as the press release states.
“I got gas in the tank/ I got money in the bank/ I got news for you baby, you’re looking at the man…,” Brandon confidently sings across a cluster of high-spirited electric-guitar riffs, tambourines, crashing drums and soaring synths . “I got skin in the game/ I got a household name/ I got news for you baby, you’re looking at the man.”
A joyous and bold, refreshingly unexpected return – I LIVE!
