“There’s a lock upon the door, but we hold the key to change…“
As the title suggests, Miley‘s second offering, “Inspired,” from her forthcoming follow-up due out later this year is an uplifting, and yes, truly inspiring serenade.
As opposed to romantically cooing sweet sentiments to her lover, “Inspired” flips the focus on us: “We are meant for more/ Pull the handle on the door that opens up to change/ I know that sounds so strange/ ‘Cause you’ve always felt so small, but know you aren’t at all/ And I hope you feel inspired…,” she softly croons, supplying some much-needed encouragement across a stripped-back, very country-tinged soundscape.
Miley‘s always been outspoken when it comes to advocating for what she believes in, and in “Inspired,” the message without a doubt shines through – this time, in the music. “How can we escape all the fear and all the hate?/ Is anyone watching us down here?/ Death is life, it’s not a curse/ Reminds us of time and what it’s worth/ To make the most out of it while we’re here…,” she sings. PREACH!!
It’s songs like these that are so important now more than ever. Bless you Miley, a true gift.
