Sia, as we know is the current reigning Queen of Soundtracks, we know this from the countless anthems she’s provided for a majority of the big blockbusters over the last few years – from The Hunger Games to The Great Gatsby to Fifty Shades of Grey to Pitch Perfect 2 to San Andreas to Zootopia to Star Trek: Beyond to Lion. No other diva stands a chance, period.
This week, Sia drops off yet another soundtrack cut called “To Be Human” for the most anticipated film of the year, Wonder Woman, which is finally rolling into theaters on June 2nd. The track, featuring production and vocal assistance from Labrinth, like most of Sia‘s soundtrack offerings is musical-healing greatness all about not giving up, and rising above in spite of challenges – in this case, the song directly relates to Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot‘s character Diana Prince, who is superhuman and faces love for the first time when she meets captain Steve Trevor, played by the oh-so-charming Chris Pine.
“To be human is to love/ Even when it gets too much/ I’m not ready to give up/ To be human is to love/ Even when it gets too much/ I’m not ready to give up,” she sings on the soaring chorus, filled to the brim with crashing drum beats, lingering piano melodies, and cinematic electronica.
It’s big, dramatic, powerful and everything you’d expect from an almighty Sia ballad. She did Wonder Woman proud, y’all – LOVE!
“To Be Human” by Sia (feat. Labrinth) is also available on Apple Music and Spotify!
