At last, Allie X has blessed us with some fresh new tunage on this blessed #NewMusicFriday!
After announcing that her upcoming sophomore album CollXtion II will be released on June 9 back in February, the talented LA-based singer-songstress has finally revealed her brand new single “Paper Love” in all of its wonderful, whistlin’ glory.
Longtime little Allie X-ers clamoring for even more electro-pop greatness ought to be thoroughly satisfied: The LELAND (Troye Sivan, Daya, etc.) co-penned, Jordan Palmer and Mike Wise co-produced gem is equal parts chill and sass, as the “Bitch“-pop princess lets out her feels in the dark on the dance floor in this enticing ode to unrequited love.
“Oh, I know that boy’s gonna rip me up/ ‘Cause he ain’t that nice, he won’t do right/ He’ll leave a nasty cut,” she sings on the immediately infectious hook. “Oh, I cry until I just dissolve/ Come on watch my heart turn to pulp/ Like paper (paper-paper)/ Paper Love (Paper, paper love).”
Intoxicating pulsations. Seductive sad crooning. Catchy whistlin’. Grown-up electro-pop. This is exactly the kind of Allie X I like to hear – LOVE!
